Whisky lovers and collectors are invited to take part in a truly special charity auction, right at the heart of Speyside whisky country.

Whisky for Rothes is an online charity whisky auction raising funds for Rothes Sports Development Group, supporting local sport and community projects in Rothes – a town that sits at the very centre of Speyside’s whisky story. With generous support from individuals and distilleries across the region, several hundred bottles have already been donated, with more rare and unique lots - including casks - still to come.

The auction catalogue features an exceptional line-up of Scotch whisky alongside a carefully curated selection of sought-after international releases. Highlights include Macallan Folio 8, Macallan Concept No. 3, Dalmore King Alexander III, Glenfarclas 25 Year Old, Glen Scotia 25 Year Old and the increasingly hard-to-find Yamazaki 12 Year Old. Collectors will also discover distillery-only and limited releases from Ardnamurchan, Lagavulin and Ballindalloch, vintage expressions such as Knockando 1987, and rare single cask and cask strength bottlings from England, Wales, Ireland, Japan and Tasmania.

Whether you are looking for a good everyday drinker, a centrepiece bottle, a distinctive dram you won’t see every day, or simply the pleasure of exploring a standout catalogue while you support a worthwhile charity, this auction rewards curiosity at every level.

The auction goes live at 17:00 on 29 April and closes at 20:00 on 4 May, running throughout the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. All bidding takes place online via our charity auction partner, Just Whisky Auction.

Fancy something a bit special before you bid? Rothes Sports Development Group is running a charity raffle giving you the chance to win a private Fine & Rare Legacy Experience for up to six guests at The Macallan Estate.

This is an exclusive eight-hour experience, available on dates when The Macallan is not open to the general public. You and up to five guests will enjoy behind-the-scenes access to little-seen areas of the distillery and Estate, guided insight into The Macallan’s mastery of wood and spirit, and rare tasting moments featuring sought-after expressions such as 25, 30 or 40 year old whiskies, or pours from the Fine & Rare series.

The experience also includes dining at TimeSpirit, The Macallan’s permanent restaurant created in collaboration with three-Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca, where locally sourced dishes are expertly paired with The Macallan whiskies, fine wines or Valdespino sherry.

It’s a prize that rarely becomes available to the public.

All proceeds from the raffle will support sport and community projects in Rothes, helping us continue investing locally for the benefit of all ages.
