We all know whisky is matured in wood, so why not drink it from wood too, by making your very own unique hand carved wooden whisky tumbler! This course is suitable for all abilities.
You will be shown how to select, cleave and carve out freshly felled logs, using a selection of hand tools and devices, carving knives, shaving horses and pole lathes to create your very own whisky tumblers to take home.

Master Craftsman Ged skilfully creates one of a kind items using age old green woodworking techniques with traditional hand tools, giving a uniqueness of warmth and tactile qualities which cannot be replicated in any modern day mass production. Materials are sustainably sourced from nature, working with a range of hand-selected locally grown timber.
Getting here:
Take the Stagecoach 36 bus from Elgin to Dufftown and get off at the Glenfiddich Distillery stop. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk: follow the B975 past Glenfiddich, turn left onto the B9014, and continue 500m under the railway bridge, past Parkmore Distillery, to the workshop signs.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi or drive.
