Joined by The Cabrach Distillery Team, the evening will combine some fine drams with stories of illicit distilling on the rugged edge of Speyside. Such was the concentration of illicit distilling in The Cabrach, this remote glen became recognised as a birthplace of Scotland’s Malt Whisky story leading up to the 1823 Excise Act. Capturing that unparalleled history, legal whisky making has now returned to The Cabrach with the opening of The Cabrach Distillery, a unique social enterprise in Scotch Malt Whisky, leading the regeneration of this proud community.

Listen to historic tales of derring-do, as crofters would strive to eke out their meagre harvests to make Uisge Beatha lauded as being as fine as that from other, less illicit sources. Learn about the journey the wild spirit would endure to bring Cabrach whisky to the masses. Hear how the traditional processes influenced the building of the new Cabrach Distillery and be among the first to sample the first spirit produced in The Cabrach for 170 years as the team share some New Make Spirit, along with some other whiskies connected to The Cabrach and their future plans.

The event will comprise storytelling and interactive conversations with The Cabrach Team, alongside a flight of drams, including a rare tasting of The Cabrach Wild Spirit.

TRANSPORT
Whisky Capital Inn is located on Church Street just south of the Dufftown town centre, and only 1 minute walk from the Dufftown bus station. The bus station is on route 36W which leaves Dufftown for Craigellachie, Aberlour, Rothes and Elgin, in this order. Current bus times are as follows:
